This belt in variegated tints is created from vegetable tanned leather. Vegetable tanned leather is expensive and the epitome of good leather. A slow, labour-intensive process performed by master tanners, tree bark, leaves and roots with high tannin concentration are used instead of chemicals to de-putrefy the hide. This type of tanning method allows leather to breathe and age beautifully, like wine.
